I do find the assertion that secret dungeons are a part of progression absolutely laughable. They have been obsolete and have had their usefulness in progression stripped out for YEARS, to the point where the only thing they provide now is a set of equipment that's basically obsolete on arrival, and a title that does have its uses... mostly AFTER the gear is useless.

Secret dungeon gear has had its niche in progression increasingly cut into, particularly with Apocalypse Type - Void becoming more and more accessible- not to mention FoJ now being handed out for free on occasion. At this point it's only really good for slot-filling, and yet y'all are casually going to assert that it's an important part of progression? Please.

The fact that you can obtain Black & White title faster than The Settling Sun, and the way the director brushed it off at first makes me curious about how much KoG are knowing how the game works.

To me, I feel that TSS was easier to get simply because no one is stopping me from queuing into Titan’s Grotto. I still don’t have BnW because I have to rely on parties to even get a run, and they don’t usually take me. I can’t spend my entire day sitting in front of the screen anymore to look for any parties, even for a clear. And I have no idea if I’ve been rejected until 2 hours later when the party leaves. I understand that not every player is gonna have an easy time farming for TSS or BnW, but I wanted to input my experience. I’m sorry if this turned into a rant, I’m just a bit tired.

Ex-effing-scuse me with that entirely out-of-your-aft-end reply.

I get that different characters gotta do different things even when some have very similar functions and concepts.

But if that's going to be their rationale for the apparently deliberate lopsidedness of character playability, then please, please don't call it balance. Just call it hierarchy and make the intended ranks clear to the playerbase and stick with them.

Otherwise, if it's going to be a balance, then balance it / even it out / level the field / eff off with the disparity crap. Please.

Also, in regards to secret dungeons, I'd like for Ruben's SD to come back please. I dunno, make William the midboss and (enraged) Ent its main boss. And maybe also restore the Wally Nasods in Elder's SD to their original larger sise.

I also want to see more new SDs get added. I mean, you can access Lanox's SD before even gaining access to Lanox itself, so why not Atlas and Elysion as well, especially since they're gonna be open permanently now? And why doesn't Feita have one?

Also, I agree that their excuse for the "balance" is a poor one.

I think they pretty much meant that each character does different things, hence 'disparity'. Is it an excuse? Maybe, but they also admitted that the balance isn't in a good state as of right now so... That's something.

Yeah, I pretty much meant that even with the variance in playstyles and primary roles in gameplay, the overall damage output, potion dependence, and unique traits useability discrepancies between character classes is more than a little obvious and pretty grating in the case of the understandably less-than-commonly-sought-out classes. Going through the jobs for El Collection really shows which ones are more chugging-dependent for sub-optimal output, especially when solo-play makes these differences even clearer.

They can try to encourage party play as much as they want, but if the kick/boot mechanic remains as fickle as it is while these discrepancies are still around, then solo play will almost always be preferable for a lot of players unless they really really feel the need to party. Thankfully though, saltiness about being carried remains pretty rare, especially for the quests that require repetitive dungeon entries.

Though I'll admit that the wording of their answer is a big part of what ticks me off. I'd just like to have a reasonably even amount of effort and fun while playing as everyone, regardless of whether or not their lore grates on my sensibilities.

i mean even in that case it would generally be ok if the game actually supported those discrepancies with different types of content ... but everyone is bottlenecked through the same content and most of it is bossing centric

Ruben's was likely removed because of it's increasing smallness compared to Elder, even though it has its own unique mobs and consumable set. I'd still like for it to come back though. In Feita's case, It's probably because the region itself functions a bit like Atlas; much of it's mobs and aesthetics aren't too far off from the region it precedes (and they both share consumable sets with their next regions).

OTOH, Atlas is much more differentiated from Elysion in mob types than Feita is from Velder, and Feita still has/had some unique things going for it.

Things like say... that one dungeon it used to have? That corrupted garden dungeon with its very idiosyncratic look, found-nowhere-else mobs (aside from that one remnant it has in the field), and functionally semi-unique boss? Wouldn't be the worst thing to bring back and rework as a special kind of dungeon.

I am mostly baffled that they paywall things that are supposed to be QoL improvements (additional things added to preset and pet autoconsume/encouragement changes). Then again if it was free they would slap a 2 week attendance event that gives out 5 giant stone apples and 2 fighter potions.

If they are so hellbent on not making promo costume permanent, how about renting it? You pay rent to use the looks in the Magical Wardrobe. It's not permanent. It's a gold sink. It's what they want. So might as well cut some of our demands to make it happen.

Don't forget that it used to take the worst out of Heroic extraction system. 💀 Took them long enough to make it possible to be guaranteed to extract the stat you want.

at least Elrianode was grindable (even if the rng was absurd), what the fuck are you supposed to do about shadow effect lines once you dropped your daily reward armor and sacrificed your potential reforge progress on buying scrolls? God what a disappointment on release.

It can be more easy if they just change any critical/maximize effect to unnormalized and reflected in the stats and it can fix the "CP difference issue" a bit.

If every character has 15% phy/mag atk and 20% critical/maximize instead of random numbers everywhere that are normalized, unnormalized and multiplicative for no reason... But probably they will say "NOOOO IT'S TOO BROKEN FOR OUR GAME!!!11111ONE"

What I mean is, Dius Aer isn't a good example in this case because he completely replaces the Awakening system to make it more like Laby's and Noah's. Yes, it is still Chung, but I'm pretty sure that the question was about adding re-awakening to the standard three-bead Awakening system that almost everyone uses, which Dius Aer does not use.

I have an idea about this. How about making a "Hell Mode" for dungeons before Elrianode that level 99 players can run to do any unfinished quests? Kinda similar to current Heroic Mode, but with a lower CP requirement, no supreme monsters, and you can actually choose which dungeon to enter (so like really old Heroic dungeons). I'm sure players would be more willing to play through the dungeons if they could actually get EXP and drops from them. This would be good for Laby and Noah as well, since they can still accept side story quests from the non-exclusive villages.
