Genesis Guide

Overview
Genesis is a strong magical DPS with average offensive debuffs and a decent amount of Damage Reduction for the team. He is straightforward to play, but requires Way of the Sword management. Furthermore, while playing Genesis, it’s important to maintain a specific position depending on the size of the boss. Genesis is fairly self-sufficient when played correctly, so he does not have to rely on specific teammates, but for an easier time, certain buffs, such as Cooldown Acceleration, can be very helpful.
Pros
Easy to learn and overall strong on almost all boss sizes.
Improved character movement in comparison to Elsword’s other paths.
Easy to learn rotation with strong filler skills.
Cons
[Mod] Retribution has a weird RNG hitbox system.
Important to keep track of Way of the Sword to maintain no reliance on supports.
Skill Bar
There are 3 possible skill bars for Genesis depending on the dungeon.
Keep in mind that regular No Mercy instead of [Mod] should be used for wide bosses.
General Skill Bar
If the boss can be frozen:
If the boss cannot be frozen:
This setup can also be used while clearing normal dungeons.
Specific Boss Skill Bar
Best used on King of Abyss in Birth of Origin (18-4) raid or Echoes of Doom in Wilting Tower: Fall (21-5).
Skill Rotation and Passive Management
When playing Genesis, it is necessary to keep a certain flow of passive management and a skill rotation. First of all, you want to start off in Awakening to activate all damage boosts (like the Fate passive that enhances the effects of certain other passives such as Thirst and Awakened Will: Sacred Templar). These passives require you to swap your Way of the Sword to the Aura corresponding to each skill, so make sure to utilize Vitality and Destruction in the right moments. After that, proceed with the following:
Sword Trace
No Mercy
Sword Explosion
Divine Lift
Retribution or Unlimited Blade: Trial
Unlimited Blade: Trial or Retribution
Sin Cleaver
Triple Geyser
→ Rinse and repeat. The order for 5. and 6. depends on the boss.
Keep in mind that [Mod] Retribution will deal higher damage on wider bosses and Unlimited Blade: Trial will be more consistent on taller ones.
For example, Retribution will work better on Undead Dragon Jabberwock in Wilting Tower: Flight (21-4), meanwhile Trial will deal more on bosses such as Bifron or Specter Swarm in Nightmare: Reset Room (21-2).Iron Body can be used every time it’s off cooldown in dungeons like Queen’s Throne Hall (21-3), or in anticipation of an attack that will require you to have Super Armor and the Damage Reduction it gives.
Dominion is a skill that shreds enemies’ Elemental Resistance, so make sure to cast it before the boss gets frozen.
Destination is a low-priority filler skill, meaning it is only used when more important skills are on cooldown, or even your entire skill bar.
Resolution becomes your main filler skill used over Triple Geyser whenever the boss you are fighting is large and one-sided, such as Echoes of Doom in 21-5.
Positioning Tips
To maximize the DPS output of Genesis’ main skills, it is necessary to maintain a specific position. When using Retribution against bosses such as Dragon Jabberwock in 21-4, it is recommended to be positioned as close to the middle of the boss’s body as possible to make sure that each and every El Sigil hits. Meanwhile, against enemies like Bifron in 21-2, taking one or two steps away from the target is enough to ensure maximum damage dealt by Unlimited Blade: Trial.
Exascale Recommendation
Red Exascale with Continuous Damage is recommended, considering that Genesis has strong filler skills, like Triple Geyser and Resolution.
Provided his passives are managed properly, skill cooldowns are not an issue. His debuffs coming from skills like Divine Lift and passive effects activated by using Sword Trace or No Mercy have a high uptime while sustaining your own Special Active Skill Cooldown Acceleration through Fate by using Sin Cleaver or Sword Explosion.
