05/21 Patch Notes - DirectX11 & Mount Extraction
20 May 2026
Developer Notes
On May 21, we plan to update the DirectX 11 version that was previously tested through the Public Test Server.
Considering that game launch behavior may vary depending on each environment, for the time being it will be provided as an optional version alongside the existing client.
Additionally, optimization work has been applied to the DirectX 11 version, allowing for smoother raid gameplay, and the maximum frame rate in towns will also be increased.
The previously announced Mount Extraction System will also be updated, and the online Q&A event will begin tomorrow for one week.
If you have any questions about Elsword or feedback you would like to share, please feel free to leave them.
We will carefully review all submitted questions and opinions, and share them during the Elrios Summer Rendezvous event, where you can enjoy both the Summer Update presentation and the cafe event together, on Saturday, June 20.
We ask for your active participation in the online Q&A.
The Summer Update presentation scheduled for Saturday, June 20 will be available for all adventurers through an online livestream, and for two days from Sunday, June 21 to Monday, June 22, the “Elrios Cafe Rendezvous” event will also be held, where all adventurers are free to visit and participate.
We hope for your interest and can’t wait for you to take part in the event.
DirectX11 Version
When launching the game through the Elsword website or Nexon Plug, you can choose between the DirectX 9 Ver. and DirectX 11 Ver.
DirectX 9 Ver. is set as the default option.
If you launch the game using a version different from the current default, that version will become the new default on the next launch.

Fullscreen mode is restricted in the DirectX 11 version. (When selected, it will operate in Borderless Windowed mode instead.)
In the DirectX 11 version, UI elements are also adjusted while Colorblind Mode is enabled.
The maximum frame rate limit in Towns, Guild Hideouts, and El House will be increased to
4060 FPS.
Other Improvements
The default aspect ratio will be changed from 4:3 to 16:9.
The position and size of overall UI elements will be adjusted.
All loading images will be improved to maintain their aspect ratio when the resolution changes. Letterboxing will appear for resolutions with incompatible aspect ratios.
Dungeon Clear dialogue UI illustrations will maintain their aspect ratio when the resolution changes.
Skill Cut-In illustrations will maintain their aspect ratio when the resolution changes.
